There is a thread in the Error Coins forum that is not getting a lot of action so wanted to start one here in the Billion forum, as I know many of you have an interest in the 25th anniversary ASE set. It looks like there may be a possible DDO on the regular bullion ASE within the 25th anniversary set. Here is a link to an article from Numismaster.com:

http://www.numismaster.com/ta/numis/Article.jsp?ad=article&ArticleId=24683&et_mid=536156&rid=16665404

It is estimated that less than 15% of these have the doubling. This would make the estimated population (15,000) less than 1/3 of that of the 2008 reverse of 2007 ASE variety (47,000). This would also be, to the best of my knowledge, the first legitimate doubling ever in the ASE series. This variety could be a potential winner. I checked out my one set and the bullion ASE does have the noted doubling. :smile I posted the pic. I also checked my two slabbed S-less 2011 San Francisco minted bullion coins and neither has this doubling. I also checked my stash of 2011 West Point bullion ASEs today and none have the doubling. This means that this variety could be exclusive to the 25th anniversary set. Check out your set(s) and let us know. Even though the picture I posted in magnified, I can see the doubling without any magnification especially when next to another ASE without the doubling. Good luck! TC
