One of my first Polish coins. 20 years ago I my wife wanted me to get a Polish coin to show at our wedding. I called Karl Stephens, a California dealer and bought an inexpensive thaler. At the time of purchase foreign was never slabbed. Here's what I got. Poland, Thaler, King Ladislawitz IV, 1634 Later on I went on a Polish buying kick as I'm part Polish and the things were interesting and inexpensive but not too common. Below is another sample. Thaler of Stanislaus II August Poniatowski 1766, mint state, H. Karolkiewicz: Triton IV auction, New York , Dec 6th, 2000, lot 2450 I was getting a little more serious at this point. Also at the Dec, 2000 auction I bid on some John Casimir thalers but didn't win any of them. Finally out of Stacks NYICS (Jan, 2018) auction I got one but it cost me a bit more. It's in a slab and I haven't photographed it yet
