Got some silver bullions (bars and coins) I need to store at home. Though I have no interest in numismatic value, I would like to keep it as clean as possible since I am sure that will only help when time to sell.

Is plastic ammo box an acceptable method of storing silver? Thanks.

I think it would be acceptable. You could always put in a couple of dessicant packs and a few really shiny Lincoln cents.

Why a few really shiny Lincoln cents? I am just curious.

Plastic? Ugh. Go to a surplus store or recycle store for a couple of bucks you can get genuine metal ammo boxes.
I've got 'em from WWII, the Korean war, Nam. I use some of mine to store LiPo batteries for RC airplanes.

i thought plastic would be better or at least sufficient to store silver. Any reason to choose the metal can over plastic to store silver bullion?

Plastic is OK. Metal boxes are overbuilt.

Plastic is fine if there's no PVC in it.
