    I still like seeing your pictures of your first Roman collection. I have learned to have some general parameters when I am looking for things because otherwise you spend hours and hours looking at everything. But those parameters are pretty loose. "I like Septimius Severus." "Boy, I'd like to get a tet like Mat just bought." "It would be cool to find some Sikyon coins at this show I can afford." It's nice to work on mintmarks or years too but when that is boring, buy the stuff that surprises you.

    I've got ten years in Romans, now, since the collection shown in this thread essentially happened a decade ago.

    I have 40 years in the hobby now (41, this November). So I should live to see "50 years experience" in numismatics in general, but I'll be pushin' up daisies before I can claim 50 years of collecting ancients. ;)

    Trouble is, so many of them clamor for attention and whisper sweet nothings in my ear.
