Is it worth picking up the Perth Mint Lunar Silver Coin series (II)? I see that the prices on the 2oz versions are 2x-4x their initial sale value but of course are only really worth 2 oz of silver. I know this series has a huge mark up by APMEX and other dealers, but is it worth it in the long run? Have the Series I coins held up their collector values over the years?
APMEX has the 2015 BU Goat 1 oz silver coin at $28. That's $12+ over spot for 1 oz of silver! But then the 2014 BU Horse 1 oz silver coin is selling at $40 on APMEX.
Some of them have shown very sold returns and some have not. It's something you might want to do some research on and go from there.
