40 years ago I worked with a man that was also a small time coin collector, like myself. We both talked about picking up coins that we would see on the ground. I saw him about 10 years ago and asked if he still picked up coins and he said, "no, that he was walking with a man and went to stop and pick up a cent, and the man said, 'you'll stop and bend over for just one cent'?, and I thought about it, and stopped doing it" he said. Well, I'm 71 now, have L3-L5 in my lower back fused with hardware, my right knee replaced 9 years ago, going to doctor today to schedule to have it replaced, again as it has worked loose, and 3 months after that surgery, I'll have my other knee replaced for the first time. I've only failed to pickup one cent that I saw on the ground, because at that time I was not physically able to bend down. If I see any today, I'll be picking them up. Old habits are hard to break, lol. Oh, I didn't tell all of that for sympathy, I'm doing well, EXTREMELY BLESSED. I just love coin collecting, and have to know what I would be passing up if I didn't get it.
