Don't sound right to me. There's all kinds o' scouts from all over the world and a lot o' 'em ain't Christian. Scouting is above (or at least it should be) religious/political issues. It's supposed to be about fellowship and good will. We can all subscribe to that....

yea they got scouts all over the world and religion isn't a reason they kick anyone out for...sounds like someone not following the scout oath lied to you...I know this cause when I went to philmont scout ranch close to philmont new mexico out trek was following the same trek number 15 as a troop from japan and they were all of the shinto religion...I know this cause we would share a campfire with them sometimes and somehow God came up as a subject and we all talked about it..it was fun to learn new things also on my last day there I traded my scout shirt with one of them for their shirt, scarf and slide

just what i was told. i was told i needed to leave because i wasn't christian. as for political, isn't there a court case about gays in the scouts...?? :whistle: above political... there's nothing in the usa that is above political anymore.

 

I don't think many actual leaders or chair people in scouts mind gays in scouts just as long as they are not practicing it around the kids... and if there are kids that are gay too they need to not being doing that around others either...it's on the same basis as to why girls are not allowed in boyscouts...that would lead to a whole new type of "sleeping" arangement... and with how our culture in the USA is nowadays.
with it being a joke to be a good person and people saving themselves for marriage are considered weird... I think we need to keep camping and innocent activites just the way they are...there's plenty of time for that kind of stuff outside of scouting...scouting is about growing up with values not mearly about having fun in anyway possible...
