I would love to get my hands on some of that and right away convert it to gold. No matter what you think the value of USD is, holding some of that in your hands makes me drool....

    Buying opportunity!

One of my retirement dreams is being able to endlessly count a limitless supply of gold coins, from the late 1700's, through the gold fever in the wake of the 49er's discovery, into the modern national coins in various carats and mixtures and mint origins.

People usually only jump in as the price is rising when the fever is in the air!

Yeah I know what you mean. Watch Pirates of the Caribbean where they find that huge gold chest at the end of the 1st movie, along with endless amounts of gold jewelry....

Buying at $1000 is an easy call. What about $1050? If you are waiting until $1000 you may never get in.

Is it wishfull thinking or ? What events are going to occur to cause it to drop 10%?

$1050 is a very easy call, I know because I bought a bunch at $1054...

This price pull-back is going to look like a really good thing in a few weeks. The surge was getting too frothy and irrational.

I got the results on a number of gold coins graded at NGC today. All in all, I was happy with the good grades that I got which off-set the no-grades and non-crossovers which were a little surprizing.

Ok. So when you gonna sell? At $1000?

Never!! I am prepared to hold onto my AGE's for the long term. I grunt and whine about gold dipping, but I made commitment to go long.

I would sell if I knew that premiums were going back down as well. Just so I can buy them back up later on without much loss and maybe a profit.

I think at the time, I was paying $40 maybe $50 premiums on these AGE's. At $80-90 now, I can't sell them, and then buy them back later, I would really take a loss...so I have to hope that in the long run they go back up.

But I'm willing to pick up more at $1050 and below....as long as the premiums aren't that steep which is what I fear...

I know Yankee said he'll buy a roll of 20, but I forgot to ask him if he would buy them at $80 premium...

Lets watch what it does overnight tonight in Asian trading... can it see $1050 by close of London tomorrow before the weekend? or less? ONLY Yankee can tell us heads or tails with his magic coins! :goofer:

Yankee is gonna pay $1000 including the premium.

If it drops to $1000, the premiums should drop too. Demand will have fallen off and they need to turn coins. If it doesn't go down, then they are hunkering down and waiting it out.

Why not sell at $1100 and buy back at $1000 or even $1050? You make $50 on each oz now and more later?

If I can time it just right then yeah it could work. Problem is we don't know if it will go to $1000. I also have to figure in the shipping costs I paid the last time, with what it would cost me to insure the package and ship them.

Like I said earlier, I'm a simple man, all this thinking and careful calculating gives me a headache. I just want to buy low and sell high. Why can't life be that easy? :D

LOL! :) I'm just sharing what I see. Buy low as you go. :high5:
And I'm still holding out for a live market PM chart in the CT side columns so we don't have to post the numbers just to talk about it from time to time. I float the idea from time to time and made my $$$ donation to the forum! Also sort of hoped to keep this thread alive until we actually see 1350 just to see how long and varied this thread can get over the course of the journey.

    Ok first off:

    1) There are actually donations to this board?

    2) I asked this before but got no response. What the heck is this "Credit" stuff I see under my profile? And what do I "check" and "purchase".

    3) I'm not sure who the mods or owners are but have they responded back to you about your idea of a live PM module? I assume you PM'ed them....

    1) Yes, Here is one such way recently put out to members, CoinTalk Fundraiser!

    2) Always check the Support & Feedback section and put your questions there. There are several threads that exist on what the Credits are designed and used for. You should have seen the founders intro when you signed up for CT.

    3) Peter T Davis owner/founder occasionally other members also ask the same questions, but it's easy enough to find them in the Support & Feedback section or if you read a lot of threads and see the Mods and Admins titles in the right column when they post or intervene in spats to settle or close proceedings... this was a recent thread someone started and received the same answers that you seem to be curious about.

Some CT members liked my idea, but no Mods, Admins nor the site Owner responded. You could PM them with anything you need, but they are busy enough. I logged my idea and it's there for posterity in Support & Feedback:

A Precious Metals (PM) live market ticker for CT

Also, try using the "search" feature in the CT toolbar at the top of each page, it's quite good and easy to use, and usually there are threads already out there that have answers to your inquiries. Hope that helps.
