Thank you for posting the comparison; I was thinking this morning about taking a look at one year ago, to see just how much gain has actually taken place over the year. Nice of you to take the time to do this. I like the gains As an aside, I read an article today about bull market; article said it began in 2000, and that bull market cycle is 15 to 18 years. We'll see..

I'm standing in Tombstone, Arizona. Tumbleweeds rolling by behind me.... I stand with my hands by my hips ready to pull the trigger. I stare down the empty dusty streets.....no one is around me, everyone is home with their doors and windows shut.... My only buddy is my golden retriever, named Buddy. Constantly barking at me, I think he's saying, "I'll be your huckleberry".... I think about my sleepless nights as my dollar devalues, night after night.....I need to make a decision, and I need to make it quick.... Arriving ahead of me, a man, holding a bag of silver and gold.....silver and gold....I like the sound of that...... He approaches me and says, "Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?" And so ask myself, "Well, do I feel lucky?" I ask him, "What's the premium?" He says, "$60 over spot". With that super white teeth grin of his and a cigar hanging outta his mouth.... I grind my teeth while staring him down..... Buddy here is growling at the man.....doesn't seem to like him very much...... I'm skeptical of him, but I don't trust the greenback even more. My legs start to shake, oh wait, that's just Buddy's tail hitting my leg.... I make the first move. I pull out my cash and make the swap before he raises the premium even more. I tell him, "This ain't better be fools gold or Buddy and I will hunt you down!" He says, "No sir, but if you ever need to sell that back you know where to find me, now have a nice day fella!" Buddy here keeps barking at me, I say, "What are you looking at? You hungry?" (I think he's hungry) So I tell Buddy, "Let's go hunt you some rabbits.....cause you can't eat gold...."

As Gold Prices Soar, JPMorgan Reportedly Reopening New York City Gold Vault The above links to a story from The Huffington Post [10/04/2010] CURRENTLY: GOLD: $1,315.20 Silver: $22.04 Platinum: $1673 Palladium: $568
The Huffington Post seems to have a negative fear-based approach to just about everything. Global Cooling, Global Warming, Gold Market Crash... Personally, I think gold will rise for quite some time. We'll see.
I have no agenda for citing that source for the story. THP is but one report on the story of the Chase gold vault in the headlines today. The FT carried the story but you need a subscription to read about it there. I just used the first link I could find today. Also, the WSJ reported on 9/22/2010 that JPM opened another vault in Singapore... this should have Elaine in delights of fancy. JPMorgan Singapore Bullion Vault Opens Wednesday CURRENTLY: GOLD: $1,317 Silver: $22.05 Platinum: $1672 Palladium: $565
Case of the Monday's? PM's not really doing much today although I'm not complaining..... I've been absolutely thrilled with its performance lately....
Absoultely!! I went to a coin show yesterday and one of the dealers was talking about gold hitting $2000 by the end of next year! What y'all think of that prediction? Not my prediction and posted for discussion only. :hail:
What's to discuss? Nobody knows how precious metals will perform. Be mindful of riding the wave of enthusiasm. Like any other wave, a time will come when it crashes, not necessarily a market crash, just a correction, but that could be severe and stunningly quick. A moment of fun leaves surfers broken, scattered and underwater. CURRENTLY: GOLD: $1,315.70 Silver: $22.00 Platinum: $1675 Palladium: $564
$2,000 is too optimistic IMO by the end of the year. I don't doubt we won't reach that number one day, just not in the next 3 months......
