AMPEX just gladly bought 20 eagles from me this morning. Tomorrow I am selling them more. They seemed happy to buy them from me even though I got them for much less from them. They are great to deal with and send the check FAST!

 

Local dealers are now asking for $100 over spot for AGEs.....wowser!

 

I expect that to rise more if the price keeps riseing. I sold 20 1 ounce gold eagles to AMPEX this morning and they were happy to get them at $20.00 over spot. Tomorow I sell more to them. The guy on the phone told me not many are selling at this time. his phone was quiet before I called

I'm glad to hear this. I deal with APMEX as well and their service has so far been outstanding. Good to know that they will be ready to purchase from me when I'm ready to sell.

Can I ask you what is the procedure when mailing them in the coins? I get fearful just even thinking about putting my coins in the mail for USPS...

 

There's only one local dealer around me and at the time, which was about 1 month ago, he was asking $75 over spot for AGE's. I'm sure he's asking higher now.

With that said, I think I'll just stick with APMEX.

 

I sent the gold USPS in one of their flat rate boxes Registered mail!. They have insurance for registered mail it will cost you $1.30 for each $1000. they insure up to $25,000. and I get a tracking number as well as a signature from the receiver. You have to cover the whole package with that brown paper tape with the strings inside. The tape is mandatory USPS rules. AMPEX sends your check FAST! and best of all it doesent bounce!

 

That's awesome! Yeah, I know what tape your talking about, I hate cutting them when I get my coins in the mail, but I love looking inside the box. It's like Xmas everytime!

$1.30 for every $1000 seems to cheap!!!

 

APMEX is about 3 miles from my house, but have never been over there. One of these days I'm gonna have to stop by there.

If gold stays above $1153 through Wednesday AM, we should see another price hike at the Mint. That will be the last bracket on the chart...they'll have to make a new chart if prices keep rising.

 

just add $50.00 to every $50.00 london gold average increase for UHR double eagle and Buffalo gold proof. and $25.00 for spouse gold proof and uncirculated.

 

True...but I'm easily confused ...I need a chart!

 

That's a sure bet, cause gold is gonna keep going up and up. I can't even imagine any reason that it would fall right now.

I save charts from time to time, and I was going through some of my files on my computer, and found this chart I saved from almost 11 months ago to date.

And most were thinking that it might even get to $1000 before the year was over. haha

 

Take a look at the chart for 1979 and 1980 for gold. When you see what a top in gold really looks like, you realize we aren't there yet.
