Yeah...I didn't expect all this worldwide economic turmoil, either.

I got my Margaret Taylor coins today. The Proof is superb, but the Unc has a very slight rim ding...(what are ya gonna do?).

In the past I could usually find an NGC or PCGS MS70 on eBay for about what the Mint sells them for.

Lately, though...they've been selling for a premium over the Mint's premium. :headbang:

Thanks, I look at my shiny babies (the silver pile) and it's hard to let go. I still have to think if I want to do it. This is the part where I talk myself in and out of doing things.

I had no problem buying...errrr.. (getting rid of my USD) for silver or gold....I don't necessarily NEED to get rid of it now but at this price range it seems to be pretty decent....

I've always been the one buying, never the one selling so it's a new thing for me... I just don't know if I want to be holding onto silver for 10 years if it's going to fluctuate a couple cents....

    decisions decisions!!

Well, it is good practice to be both a seller and a buyer. You really learn a lot about how it works this way. I would caution dumping everything you have at the moment, esp. if this is your first time selling so you don't feel 100% disappointed if the near future prices continue to increase to your advantage. Perhaps sell just a portion now and hang on to that money to immediately reinvest if a dip comes back sooner than it climbs. I think you mentioned wanting to trade from one metal to another, use the funds of your sale as an educational experience and reinvest the case as soon as you are ready to reinvest in the other PM you want to be in. Just a thought to help your decision making. :secret:

BTW, have you been reading / finished reading that Graham book yet? I'm up to chapter five... haven't gotten to Cloud's recommended chapters yet.

    Good tips my friend.

I bought silver basically on the premise that it was cheap and that it was going to be the volume of silver that I have that will really do well for me WHEN/IF silver goes up.
I also feel a little suckered into the silver fear factor when I was starting out, I was youtube 24/7 watching every clip I could find on silver and gold.

Suffice it to say, I'd have to guess almost everyone on youtube other than peter schiff are not even economists. Not that it takes that much away from their message, but that perhaps they don't understand fully their own words.

Coming here has really helped talking to all of you guys and I have to also mention Cloudsweeper, he has definitely helped keep me stay grounded....

The minimum I recall is $1,000 for selling to APMEX. Since my silver bars are APMEX bars I'm just going to sell some back to them but I won't offload my entire inventory. :D

My goal by the end of this year is to actually own more silver than I do now. But if silver dips later this year, like you said, I can buy them back on the cheap while in return right now, I can swap the sales of my silver for some gold....

If silver is still hovering $17-18 by Xmas 2010, I will have to re-evaluate my thoughts on silver and possibly just focus solely on gold.....

As for the book, you know me, I've been heavily studying for some certs lately, I've read about 10 books in the last 3-4 months! Mainly computers books and economic books and some political...I most definitely will be reading the book that Cloud mentioned...
