It`s the right approach for anybody. I wish I would of had the common sense and discernment that I do now back when I was 19. The one thing that JCROCKKSSS has going in His favor, (besides the good advice on here) is the fact that He has never been in the PMs when they were drastically lower than they are now. Had He been buying gold and silver for even half of their current spot value, He might be a little hesitant to pull trigger right now.

Like what some have already said on here though....Do the research Yourself and come to Your own conclusions. I happen to think that JCROCKKSSS is right in His assumption of the dollar getting weaker and weaker, but again....ANYTHING can happen.
And btw.....good choice on Your first selection of silver....a little of everything thrown in there. : )

    ;) Don't we all...

It's wonderful to start investing at 19. I started when I finished grad school. You don't need a lot of money to begin - just begin the process of learning and doing.

Not to be too self-promotional, but I've written a Mini Course on how to get started and avoid the 7 biggest mistakes people make when they begin investing in gold and silver. Feel free to subscribe if you think it will be helpful (I don't sell gold or anything and it's free):

I would have stuck more with bullion that is .999, but the Morgans will give You something in the numismatic realm too. A good variety nonetheless. Bottom line is to go with what YOU like, and not get too partial to it when You decide to sell. : )

PS- I like the plug for Jesus as well.

I think I'll change the order to 5 1oz bars bullion and 2 Canadian Silver Dollars.I'll look/buy older more collectable coins when I get more money to invest and get abit more familiar with everything. Would it be smarter to buy 1 5oz bar then 5 1oz bars?
    Thanks for all the help.

Im glad you like the Jesus thing, this world needs more people like you my friend, people who arent afraid to say they like stuff like that! Its very encouraging to me =) and I thank you for letting me know!

I like the Canadian issues that are .9999, just because they are the purest form of silver that gets minted. But as far as going with 1 5oz, or 5 1oz....That`s just a personal preference. No dealer is going to discriminate on either. Now when You get into some older bullion that has added value on the secondary market, (like ebay) that`s different, but for now I think You`re on the right track.....keeping it simple with mostly bullion at first. You will also learn plenty from the other people on this site too.

I`m glad to hear You were encouraged! Unfortunately people are becoming more afraid to admit their faith for fear of being demonized, but I have been called much worse than a "Christian." : )

On a Biblical note regarding gold & silver......Gold is mentioned 417 times and silver 320 in the KJV. Both metals are dated back as far as roughly 1400 BC.

Canadian Maple Leafs have loads of good attributes - they're fun to look at (the simple leaf design is elegant), they have mucho purity, and they're relatively easy to buy. Any store or show should have boat loads of them. But my personal favorite is the Australian Kookaburra, though some designs look better than others.

Also remember that one of the best ways to hedge against bad economic times is to diversify. Putting all of your money in one place, even in metals, is risky. Plus, metals can get stolen. Keep them somewhere safe (most banks offer relatively cheap safe deposit boxes - sometimes as low as $15.00 a year). In any case, have fun and good luck.
