Hello everyone. Today this came in the mail and I am very happy to finally have a non-copper draped bust coin. I wasn't planning on getting one soon but once I saw the coin I knew I had to buy it. It is an 1805 Draped Bust 25C Browning-4 with a hole (F12 w/o the details) I know it's holed but the details are much better than anything I could have afforded in a straight grade. Plus my love for holed coinage has been growing on me lately so why not? Overall I spent $140 for this one. It is now one of my favorite coins.
Nice surfaces and a decent amount of detail still left! I can see why it called you. I’m closer to VG details. That’s about the going rate for holed VG draped bust quarter.
Very nice. I was actually ogling examples of this type today during my break. On my list for sure but I’ll likely be paying $400+ for an example with less detail than the OP but no hole. Luckily this type seems prone to the Cameo even in low grades.
Most of us have to make compromises due to budgets. That coin has honest wear and very nice surfaces and details. The hole shows that someone admired it enough to wear it as an ornament... which makes sense as it's one of the most beautiful designs in American coinage!
That's a very nice DB quarter, holed or not, and it's nicer than the two "holey" examples I once had on my old Holey Coin Vest. It is a CircCam as well, which is nice.
