This is why I suggested doing it for the blue book value instead of gifting it or going super lowball. Not only will it not arouse suspicion, but it is a legitimate transaction even if not what such a nice car 'should' fetch. I also agree with Shoewrecky. Unless you know the recipient of the car and trust them, it's probably best that they don't know you have PM's, and instead just buy from a reputable dealer with the cash. Granted you could cut out the middle man and save both parties on the buy/sell spread, but it might be worth the added cost to keep your stack on the down low.
Sorry guys had to step away for awhile today. Family day, hope you understand. Ok so lets clearify this. It came up in a conversation between someone else and myself. I said sure not knowing if it was legal or not. Just so happened to be speaking to my wife late that night about it, next day she was talking to her friend she said it was illegal. Now I trusting must people on this site and their judgement and I am almost positive atleast one person may have already done something similiar. Now if it was a decision that needed to have a attorney or cpa I would be more than willing to pay for one or both to be there because we pay them to protect us and our business already. However from my experience in the past unless that lawyer or cpa deals directly with Commodities everyday and knows the ends and outs of the laws that are attached to them I doubt your run of the mill attorneys will know, and they will research but it will cost. Now it has been a good topic because I think I know there is atleast one attorney watching me! And like I said I would never sub an educated diffenitive solution over a "possible, maybe so I dont know". As for being worried of a break-in or people finding out whats in my house, not worried at all. I know I am not Superman, but I have a very extensive security system with cameras (most of them out of sight), maybe a vault or 2 in the house, and well 15 years in the Corps pretty much means one of is not going to make it. My gun vault is on my night stand with a Kimber Custom Covert II and 4 clips and its on my hip every day.
