Pishpash had a thread devoted to Russian Wire Money in January, which you can check out here: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/russian-wire-money.289551/ I was intrigued, so last week bought my first Russian XVIth century Silver Wire coin. thanks @Pishpash, these are cool! Ivan IV "the Terrible" (as Grand Prince of Moscow) ca. 1535-1538 AR denga 0.3g - 12 mm
Nice, I have him too. Ivan “The Terrible” (1533 - 1584) AR Kopeck O: Tsar on horseback advancing right, thrusting spear downward. R: Legend in Cyrillic. Pskov mint 18mm .69g
Those are much more complete and better struck than the little boogers I had once! Mine were on pretty oblong flans. There were about a half-dozen of 'em I got in a lot somewhere.
