My first elongated cent was in the mid to late 70's and got mashed in San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf.
I have a elongated coin collection the Buffalo one I gifted to Ron Pope Mr. Buffalo nickel himself ,I was glad I did as Ron like anything Buffalo..and this specimen came from the expo in Buffalo NY. Ron passed a few months later... I also found another on that was uncirulated and red not brown as this one. The next is from Philadelphia another expo piece. These are a lot of fun to collect.
Kevin I'll tell you what.... give me your address as I have 2 of his Mercury dimes elongated coins, I believe that they are the key to the set. I'll send you one...your a good buddy and friend
Yeah, I got my "1st" from Lord M as well... Now I have the whole set of lord m's including the wooden dollar... bleh need 2 posts for all the pics lol
Those aren't the key- the Type 4 cent is- but they ARE the item that is sold out now. So not even I could put together a full set now, without those.
Any time I'm up on the Thru-way (NY) or 'Jersey TPK I squish a few cents. Best to use old coppers......
