Some collectors like a particular type and collect its variants. We have some on this forum who like FEL TEMP REPARATIO coins from various mints:

https://www.cointalk.com/threads/another-mint-set-almost-done-fel-temps.304228/#post-2876532

One of our members admitted to completing a set of 13 "hut" mints:

https://www.cointalk.com/threads/fel-temp-reparatio-hut-type.259251/page-2

and another showed 16 "soldier-spearing-fallen-horseman" coins.

https://www.cointalk.com/threads/top-fel-temp-reparatio-coins.306797/

I admit I have a bit of an interest in another common type:

Diocletian, 284-305, struck at Trier

27-26 mm. 9.23 grams.

IMP DIOCLETIANVS AVG

S in left field, F in right field. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/top-fel-temp-reparatio-coins.306797/ I admit I have a bit of an interest in another common type: Diocletian, 284-305, struck at Trier 27-26 mm. 9.23 grams. IMP DIOCLETIANVS AVG S in left field, F in right field. IITR in exergue RIC Trier 524a "c. 302-303." I like GENIO POPVLI ROMANI folles for their heft and affordability in good condition. After a while one can begin to see stylistic differences between the different mints and it seems interesting to get another one from a different mint. And then another. And then ... . There are eight emperors who issued the type, so that set would be interesting to fill out, too. Rather than pile on with GPR coins we've seen before, I'd like to see (as I titled this thread) "More than one of a type" and a few words about how you came to see the set as interesting. Look at the site: http://augustuscoins.com/ed/tetrarchy/Diocletianfolles.html and jump to the other pages if your don't want to see details of too many coins of Diocletian.
