Mint Made or Not?

Are these "troy-pound" Silver Eagles made by the US Mint - or are they replicas made by a third party?

Not mint made(and crap if you ask me). Although the mint is thinking about making 5oz eagles.

 

So the value is not so much as a numismatic or collector piece - but more as piece of plain bullion - correct?

 

That would be a correct statement. I wouldn't go so far as to say "crap".....it is what it is.....a big chunk of .999 silver. Just a bit pricey for bullion though.....especially with shipping.
