I was not aware that ASE was priced differently by mint mark. Is there a chart or something somewhere?
Now mint news blog is saying the coin will be the "S" mint eagle. Also on the mint web site it says the coin will ship in 1-2 weeks after ordered so we could see people get their "S" mint Eagle from this set before all of the people received the 75th set.
I'm still waiting for an announcement from the mint. Anyone hear an ordering period? If it's a year or more, this could significantly increase the sales of the ASE. Any paper collectors out there know if the $5 note has any potential?
Anyone out there believe the mint is as incompetent as they appear? Or, does the mint believe leaving details out of this ad creates controversy that has a positive affect on sales? If the mint does include an S ASE, does the mint believe they can get away with it without hurting their profits?
Well, I’m an avid coin collector, so I’ll never stop. But, if there’s an S mint ASE in this set, I’m definitely giving up collecting ASE’s and will dump what I have. There's plenty of other stuff out there with better potential where the mint is not taking advantage of collectors. I’ve always wanted to go the “purist” route and collect only from circulation/banks – maybe I’ll take my name off the mint’s list all together. One effective way to deal with monopoly abuse is BOYCOTT.
