    Copper is a very soft metal and the raised devices can be relatively easily moved due to a hard, direct hit/impact. It actually happens quite often to cents.

    OK, Thanks. The piece seems too long to have either been the upright or the cross piece. Just odd.

    Usually referred to here as PMD or Post Minting Damage. A nice hit in the right place can do that.

    Well that’s not two Y’s. It took a nice hit to do that. The copper is soft and it moves easily on cents.
