I received an email from Modern Coin Wholesale advertising the new gold Kennedy's. Out of curiosity I clicked on their link to see what they are asking for them. For the first day releases in Chicago, Denver and Washington, D.C. they are $4,879.95 each for PF-70 Ultra Deep Cameo and $3,879.95 for PF-69 Ultra Deep Cameo.

I replied to their email stating that "I'll buy mine directly from the Mint thank you. The first day releases label means absolutely nothing to me and from the Mint I can buy three for less than the price for one of your MS-69's and it is the same quality without the hype.
Good luck selling these and burying your buyers so deep they will never recoup what they paid for them."

I have not had a reply from them and do not expect to get one.

Not necessarily bad but, their mintage will be high enough that they will not appreciate in value any better than the previous years. The mint should have made dual dated 2014 halves of all metal types for commemorative sets to be sold to collectors and single date halves for regular mint sets.

these clad 2 coin sets are available at the us mint for 9.95 with a household limit of 5 per household. Modern coin wholesale wants $38.5 for them. how is selling something for triple its retail value a wholesale?

He is NOT a wholesale retailer as you know it. He gouges customers of modern coins at a wholesale level, in bulk.

I have a problem with modern coins and mint sets, they don't hold value I just hear to many horror stories of someones grandma who set aside these sets for years thinking they were setting aside a great collection to pass onto their heirs and find out its worth penny on the dollars for what they paid for them. Then if your going through these shister dealers or programs like coin vault the hurt is even worse.

I bought both of my boys mint sets for the years they were born but thats it to give em a better pass along I put together 20th century type sets that will hold there value a lot better than modern mint products.

That being said I want to buy the Kennedy silver sets later this year from the mint.

Isn't this the 2 coin set that the mint is sell for like 10 bucks? How is 38.75 a good deal?

It is shipped free because the shipping is already included in the price. $10.00 for the coin and $28.75 shipping.

So I was stupid to get the sets for $4.47 each & that includes the shipping.

In the end, it was a very good deal & they honored their listed price. That was all I was looking for and they came through.

    Cheers

Why in the World would anyone by in an ANA pf70 Kennedy. The greedy dealers not only bought them all with homeless people but they also ruined it all for the real collectors. but they're charging double the money for a coin that the mint said PCGS NGC and ANACS graded over 400 more coins with an ANA label then they sold. Go buy a PF70 for 1500. Tops. Or buy an additional label for 1500 to 2000 extra for a FAKE label. ST had over 50 of these stolen coins for sale. SMH
