Coin collectors often don't have borders. One could ask the same about Nazi coins, which are widely collected. Politics and numismatics need not overlap.
You're right, a true American wouldn't buy one. I'm hoping that the Chinese counterfeiters get a hold of their coin dies and mass produce thousands of counterfeits, especially the gold.
It is already possible to obtain 1,2 and 3 Dirham silver coins. https://www.buysilvermalaysia.com/shop/product/88-SRDC-360-Dirham-Silver-Coin-Combo-With-Capsule/ After though: These are not anything to do with ISIS.
One thing I have to wonder, especially in regards to the gold coins, is where that gold is coming from? Will it be the fruits of their raping, pillaging, and plundering? Or will they be using money "earned" from their extortion and oil sales to purchase gold from the market? What if these ISIS gold coins are minted from gold that has been looted from Iraqi and Syrian civilians? Will there come a time when world courts demand the return of all ISIS gold coins to Iraq and Syria to reimburse those with valid claims of stolen gold?
Early on they looted a bank in Iraq of around $500 million, and they're getting several million a day in oil revenues. Unfortunately they're the best funded terrorist org. out there, and one of the few doesn't need large donations from the saudis (ostensibly our allies).
Yeah, I don't think they're going to be getting any donations from the Saudis any time soon: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-30061109
well deserved too, the saudis have been funneling massive amounts of "protection money" to these terrorist orgs. for years. Maybe they'll start seeing home grown terrorism within saudi borders.
