Is now the time to give up on PMs and look to the stock market?

Wonder where APMEX projects gold prices are going. They had a blitz special on eBay — AGEs at $14.99 over spot. Sold out quickly.

I passed. Instead, I opened a new stock position. LOL.

I have always thought that when the bullion dealers are having specials and not paying more to acquire themselves, it is not a time to buy, If they thought it was going up, why not wait a while? JMO.

What a amazing coincidence. I believe the OP thinks exactly along the same lines.

Listening to all this guru self-aggrandizing is like going to the zoo and watching the baboons pick bugs off of each other. And then they beat their chest because the bugs they picked off were bigger than the bugs the other baboon picked off.

But I suppose that could indicate that they have good hygiene?

(trying to equate self-aggrandizing to bugs on baboons) I didn't even know baboons were into pm's.

That's been my problem too. Put your hard working $$$ into something that has a better future.

    I thought you were capitulating.

@Jason.A If you had some stocks, mutual funds, etc. in mind what were/are they?

Maybe we can track Silver/Gold vs what you were thinking. Then you can determine if you had a good idea or not comparing past to now, and now to future.

Prediction. By September 30 2018: Stock DJIA Under 15K. PM's at least up 200%. Mark it down and see you for further discussion in October. :)

Most stocks provide dividends? Would you please substantiate that claim for me?

Don't confuse the deficit with the debt . . . the deficit is under 2 trillion, and the debt is over 20 trillion.

Yes thank you. I was referring to the national debt. Seems like less than a decade ago, some were ranting and raving when it was approaching 10 trillion. Now, 20 and no end in sight and it's no big deal. Something wrong with that picture somewhere. Why not 200 trillion? Point being we've lost sight of all reality and it has to bite us back and hard. Meanwhile, employers expect praise from you if they hand you 2% annually. Getting off track here but hope you get my point. Whatever floats the boat though. I just think very dangerous and depressing times lie ahead. Anyway, I was supposed to have capitulated. That went well.

One of the effects of tariffs is that they are a revenue source. I seriously doubt OMB or the CBO scored this year with tariffs included.

Of all the stuff that's potentially wrong in this thread, that's the one that really bugs you? If you disagree, just let us know the real numbers.

Whether they did or not, they'd amount to little significance in the big picture . . . I'm quite sure the intent was not to increase revenues with the tarriffs as much as to incentivize the retraction of unfair foreign trade practices.

Wait a second . . . I'm the one who asked you to substantiate your claim, and you try turning this around and ask me for the numbers?

    Don't you think that's a dodgy response?
