I do save them out of my pocket change, but for me it's more of a game. There is an easier way to sort them than eyeballing the dates. I just drop them one at a time on a hard wood countertop. The zinc cents clatter, the copper ones give you a nice metallic "ting."
He'll send the IRS to do that! :hammer: Man...I never thought we would see the day when the IRS was used to enforce anything other than tax collection! :rolling: Things are getting WAY out of hand. :kewl:
Copper Recall of 2010 The IRS will know where to go for the copper by finding out from all the TPG companies. There's gonna be a lot of large cents cracked out of holders to be melted down to fill Fort Knox up with copper bars.:rolling: Don't worry. Maybe Obama will give you one circulated Ike dollar for every 100 large cents seized. Small cents only rate SBAs.:vanish:
Saving copper cents ...if you enjoy it and aren't hurting anyone... go for it. I started doing this, decided I wasn't enjoying it, and stopped. On the other hand, I couldn't spend a Wheatie if my life depended on it. Many of them are barely worth saving - say, a mutilated wheatie, no year. But they go in a jar on my dresser. Have fun, that's the thing.
If he tries, I'll take these to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and scatter them across the street during rush hour traffic. Either that, or drop them on his foot?..........head?.......what's the difference? Chris
But ossifer, it was an accident. I didn't know he was such a low-life....er....sub-standard....er....rock-dwelling....er....go ahead! take me! it was worth it! Chris
I'm hoarding mine. If someone starts paying intristic value for them, I'll sell, if not, then it's not a lot of money anyway.
I voted for #3, hopefully, to discourage others from hoarding them so there will be more for you and me. Chris
Again: They sell for a premium on Ebay right now, so what would be the problem with keeping them? It makes money, use that money for your coin fund to buy other coins......
Unfortunately cars haven't been able to drive past the White House since 1995. Oklahoma City made sure of that.
