Not buying it. Corporate Greed, Cronyism, illegal deals, immoral activities, employee abuses happen at all levels, large companies, small companies , publicly traded, private companies, makes no difference. It has always been that way and always will. When you buy the product (bullion) you become part of the problem, no different than me. Whether you buy the product or a piece of the company, you are aiding the very folks you despise. As far as too big too fail, I am not in favor either, but if that is the piece you feel so strongly about, you can buy small cap, and mid cap indexes. No companies in those groups will be getting the handouts. By doing that you will be doing just about the same amount of contribution to "the rot" as buying bullion, I see no difference except for the fact your net worth will go up.
Well Mike if it's all the same I should just buy what I like then. If I like milk shakes do you really think I'm ordering a plate of liver and hair balls? Oh but my net worth might go up? That presumes things will stay the same. Nothing will change right? The complacency in you people is beyond amazing. Thankyou for that small and mid-cap recommendation. But Mike if it's all the same tainted crap you can get silver under $15. Wasn't $18 your price point to buy? Of course it's not all really the same is it? Stackers and stacking challenge the the status-quo. Even if their strength is laughable, even if they are part of the problem as you say, they shouldn't be stacking at all should they? To stack is suggesting that just maybe the status-quo blows, bites and/or sucks. And that has always been the rub. Yes it has. And what happens if it snowballs. Is the thought of that keeping you awake at night? If you want to lose sleep, worry about commies instead Stackers. So how long have you been in this PM room trying to convert Stackers Mike? Have you converted even one?
You are moving the goalposts Longline. I was debating you statement in post #17 Quite honestly, I kicked your butt with that one and shown that buying Bullion is not a moral high ground, is not avoiding "the rot" and you ARE buying into something that you apparently you have contempt for. It seems you could no longer make a valid counter point, so you just rant about something else. That one was game set and match. Now if you want to argue others points, bring it on, pick one and we will duke it out. Also, BTW , I did purchase Silver. I went for $100 face for a little more than 14.5 x. As I have always said, I am not against PM's but they should only be bought at decent valuation and only represent a small portion of you portfolio. Nothing has changed. I still think Silver is headed lower, but it is at a price where buying small quanties and averaging lower if that occurs will work out. Also, I could be wrong and we have already hit the bottom. So what was so wrong with that???? As far as converting stackers, as I had said before, that is not the point, Stackers are too far down the rabbit hole. The point is to offer an alternate opinion for others. Nothing more. So now tell me honestly, what exactly have I been wrong about????
Gentlemen please... Put your money where your mouth is on this. Whoever sends me the most cash shall be declared the winner, and will receive 50% of what they sent me as their prize. (kidding....) Part of investing is KNOWING what you are investing in. Understanding it, understanding the risks, and knowing when to make moves. For some - that is stock, for some - metals, for some - real estate, for some - it's a college education, and for some - their mattress. All have proven good and bad throughout history. Most pick what they know and stick with it - which is a good plan. Pick your horse, run your race and stand behind it knowing you did what you thought was best.
No Mike you did not kick my butt. You are trying to pretend that the rot in my post is referring to the poor working class heroes working in the mines. Then tell me why this is in the post: "...But even if the fed manages to keep the rot twitching, I'm not a buyer in something I have nothing but contempt for..." Did you see it Mike? THE FED, THE FED, THE FED, THE FED. It's about cronyism and bail outs so stop trying to rot it into something it never was. But pretenting that the rot is about the po working class hero is the only way you can claim stacking and bullion is no different from wallstreet right? Because you have a problem when it's really about cronyism and bail outs since you can't cite a miner or a bullion dealer who has the fed's lick spittle on their shoes. Moving the goal post? Is that where I once again kicked your butt by shining the light on the real reason you despise stackers: They challenge you precious status quo? So it's true then that you never converted a stacker in CT to wall street? After all this time over and over and over again with your same old tired script? I don't suppose you recall awhile back when you recited the definition of insanity to me do you? "The reward for conformity is that everyone likes you but youself." Rita Mae Brown The ony butt *you ever kicked* was your own.
