I agree and have posted on other threads that metal etfs IMHO should not be meant to subsitute owning the actual metal. It would obvioulsy be a poor decison to buy and hold 100K worth of gld or slv. Why not just buy the bullion, but and this is a hudge but. If you want to buy them and trade the trends it is a great way to do it. No one can buy option contracts for a hundred first lady coins, but you can headge with options on gld.
