I have no problem answering your question directly - the answer is no, emphatically no !

No member of this site, or their viewpoints, are protected. Not regular members, not supporters, not dealers, not advertisers, not even the moderators are protected.

There is one thing and only one thing that protects anybody on this forum - the Forum Rules. Follow them, stay within them, and you will have no problems, regardless of what your opinion or viewpoint on any subject might be. But break the rules, fail to stay within them, and yes there will be consequences.

Consequences can vary, greatly, depending upon what is needed. They can come in the form of verbal warnings, editing of posts, removal of posts, closing of threads, the issuing of infractions that carry points for an assigned time period, temporary banning, and even permanent banning.

As far as perception or how things may appear to you (or anybody else), the rules of this forum are applied and enforced equally, fairly, and completely without any bias of any kind - for everybody.

And who sees to it that that is done ? 99% of the time - I do. And on the rare occasion when I feel the need to ask, I'll ask Peter to do so.

If you make a post that is offensive, or violates our rules in some other way, it will indeed "go". The other posts in that topic, links to them etc., will still work fine.

Now the Ignore feature works differently - in this case it is you who decides whether you want to see, or rather not see, posts by a specific member. They will be there, visible, but you choose not to "get" them.

Both aspects, so to say, work pretty much the same in any forum software. We use XenForo; other board software products "act" similarly in those regards.

Thank you both. Posts #441 and #442 are extremely helpful. Judgment calls are seldom easy and seldom universally received as fair. I get that. I ALSO get that in a Bullion Investing section, stackers will enjoy a subtle but all too real "home cooking" home field advantage. Anyone who challenges the local othodoxy assumes a level of risk of, umm, being "ganged up upon". All I ask is to keep that in mind when making those judgment calls. I am quite used to being the loud voice of the contrarian in many venues - legislative, judicial, commercial. It seems to be fraught with more peril on CT than in those other venues.

Who is Peter Davis? Does he have any interest in coins and if so why does he not participate in discussions?

Nobody actually knows who he is. Some claim he founded and runs Coin Talk even though he has absolutely no interest in coins. Others do not even believe he exists.

What I do with my Life with Silver and How I see it, thank you very Much.

1.What I do with my Fait.

"Save it most often in Star Notes as many as I can get my Artist hands on. Invest Fait in PF70 and MS70 Silver Coin Slabs sometimes not often. Save Fait. Spend it on Silver. Save it. Spend it on Silver. Give back dirty, gross notes back to back to the Bankstiess. Because so much Fait is just dirty nasty funk which I think should be against the law to be out in the public. I will Buy more Silver. Save Fait and again invest it most often in Silver. Some weeks I pull all money out of the Bankland on Friday and return Monday to re-deposit no just in my dreams I do that."

2.What I will and do with my Silver.

"I will save it. As I have for years now. I will use it in my Artwork. I will then save it up and stack it up. I will wait 20-30 or more years to cash in if ever. I do not need it to live on so to speak so I hold it, look at it, flip it, slide it, build little house's with it. I like to have Physical Silver. I must have Physical Silver and when I Think not know Think Silver is at its lowest point again and ready to flat line I will buy tons that's right tons of it. Now this is just some of what I will do."

*What goes on with the Paper Silver.

-Lies, Falsehoods, Mis-informed People. Easy. Lots of problem's

*What goes on with others Fait or in other words what they want to do with their Fait.

-Anything they want at anytime they want. Easy. No problem's

"Strong Hands, Watch the Silver do as it does, it will be helpful in the end. Be Aware of the easy investment Silver has to offer and offers. Do not be fooled by the way of Lies and Falsehoods. I thank myself everyday I own Physical Silver I hope you do as well.Have a day."

Well, if you goal is to collect some shiny metal, go for it.......... If you are trying to build wealth, I strongly disagree with your plan. Holding a commodity that does not grow, pay interest or dividends, has a relatively large cash in cash out cost, and has storage costs will almost guarantee poor performance. Silver has underperformed almost all asset classes in the past, and will do the same in the future. But as I said, if building wealth in not you goal, by all means, Stack On.....

I know, right? Heck, with my fait money, I might not even be able to go get a little Italian car. And they're cute and good on gas, too.

If stackers are on the wrong side and doomed then doesn't that make your efforts to reform us interfering with the ecosystem? Would you warn a thompson away from a tree with a leopard in it? And in so doing deprive the leopard of an otherwise earned (through patience and positioning) reward? Would you corrupt the thompson gene pool by helping a sloppy thompson pass on his/her un-tidy genes?

Why is investing different? Someone wins, someone has their face ripped off.

I don't get it? Why are you guys so obcessed with saving us? If we're fools, why isn't that a good thing for the quick and nimble playing the greater fool theory?

That is a really good question, 009. May I call you 009? When it comes to human beings and their wellbeing, and that of their families and heirs, financial Darwinism is cruel and perhaps criminal, at least morally criminal. This is an intertwined economy in which we do not dispatch the unwisely led astray to their fate. If you get your financial face ripped off, we all pay the reconstructive surgeon's bill jointly.

You may not want the world to be that way, or you might. Even I have SOME misgivings about a "we are our brother's keeper" world run amok, but it is the world we live in, for better or worse.

That's the luxury model, yes. The one made in France. Because of the name, they've made all they're gonna. :hilarious:

Yeah your probably right. But I'm never going to buy "my brother's keeper" "orginal sin" or pinkoism.

And depending on where you hang your hat, that's a darned fine way t'be. Nothing at all wrong with minimizing all that stuff as circumstances permit. I'm there with ya' in spirit, brother. I just found myself less and less able, year by year, to fend off those things effectively. The pinkos are winning. ;)

True story: I live among the Amish (it's why my internet service stinks). They are so "self-sufficient", as a community, that they amaze me. They ask almost nothing of the modern world, and actually try to minimize their dealings with it. But WITHIN their community, they are so "brother's keeper" that it resembles a commune. Amazing grace, to coin a phrase.

PeacePeople Wall St and stocks, where it's at

Do you believe that anybody here is actually going to make such a massive play that they would actually need that kind of help? Something akin to the sub-prime mortgage fiasco that was set up and orchestrated by Wall St banks, or Enron which was also set up by financial experts? I'm of the belief that's highly unlikely.

I do believe that we should do what is for the common good of all mankind in a general sense, not in a micro sense where we're doing for individuals what they should do for themselves but choose not to. With that stated, isn't it a bit hypocritical to come here and rail against people buying bullion and taking a risk or risks that they're probably or should be, well aware of the consequences? Isn't that akin to trying to micro manage their every day lives? While I do understand it's one thing to state your opinion, but to flat out criticize and ridicule them is another.

Lastly, ripping on somebody for a typo is pretty lame. It's one thing if the conversation is cordial and friendly, it's another when it's not.

I think you're largely "on the button" here, PP. The vast majority of stackers are "big boys" who can pretty much take care of their own business quite alright. At least I hope they're not getting in so far that if a financial calamity DOESN'T happen, they're "scrod". I hope not. But I did know one dude locally, made a really nice income, ardent stacker, all in, buying everything he could lay his hands on right up through silver topping at $48.48. He was actively keeping a very skeptical Mrs. Stacker at bay, promising the moon. Well, after the balloon popped, she filed for divorce, he lost his kids, and a couple of months ago he put a loaded .45 in his mouth and blasted his brains all over his family-less dining room wall. Gorgeous wife, two cute kids, one corpse. This guy was as street savvy and "common man common sense" as they come. Ron Paul signs on his lawn for years. No formal education though in economics.

Yep, only one dude, but I worry about noobs getting only half the sales pitch, the half without the "keep it in perspective" part. Side note: this is why I occasionally throw the "financial terrorism" bomb. I truly believe that somewhat incendiary sounding term to be apt.

Re the typo: point taken. But once is a typo, ten times in a row exhibits something more seriously funny. Look, I'm a wisecracker, I know it, and I also know some people take umbrage with wisecrackers as a matter of principle. If I've truly offended anyone deeply, I apologize. Sloppy spelling, capitalization and punctuation makes people look intellectually worse than they probably are. And some things require laughter....
