When silver hits $100/ oz, these sets will sell for $200

At $75/coin it seems like a good deal. You are getting two of the ten lowest mintage ASEs.
More common proof ASEs sell for about $60, so there is little risk at the issue price.
If they fetch just $90/coin, that's a 20% profit, which is not bad at all.

The 2011 reverse proof by itself sells for right around $300. Is it ridiculous to think that the 2012 reverse proof set will sell for $300? Not at all. Don't forget naysayers, some of the coins will reach us at the beginning of August and the rest won't reach us until October. Ah, right in time for Xmas, thank you US Mint. :thumb: :D

No need for me to stock up, I've already made my prediction right on this forum. Worse case scenario is they sell for $250 instead of $300. Either way I will profit if I decide to sell. Besides, I don't have any extra cash flow to stock up. :D

Then there's no reason to be talking it up like it's a done deal to profit off of. Predictions are a dime a dozen on these forums.

I think the initial mintage orders were way lower than what many people expected. That being said I am sure a lot of collectors didn't even bother picking a set up, much less look at the mint's website from time to time to keep tabs on the numbers. To me the low mintage order has shocked many people. I bought two sets, I plan on keeping one in the original Gov. Packaging and grading the other set at a later time.

??? - Chris, This is the Bullion Investing area of the forum where predictions are a big part of the discussion. I don't see what the issue is?

Very true and it's probably the naysayers who didn't buy the set who are trying to get people to stop talking about it. It's called sour grapes.

Or, it is possible that there are older people than you with more experience who have walked this route before and are trying to tell you something that your currently unable to hear because your busy counting your chickens before they hatch. Either way, there is no reason to be rude or a bragabon. Its a gamble on your part that you believe you have a good chance to capitalize on. Good luck to you and I hope you make every cent that you expect.

I have a few of those common proof ASEs, which I bought when the mint was selling them for about $25 each. I didn't get the SF set. I'll probably regret it.

I don't think I was being rude at all. The OP asked a question and I answered. By the way, did you pick up a set?

Regardless of where the prices settle with these (San Fran) nobody can cry foul. Everybody had a month to get in on them.

No. I got about 100 foriegn silver coins instead for about $30 each, mostly with Bird designs, and most with mintage's below 2000.

But I'm sure you know when your trolling someone.

FWIW, I think the Perth coin is a far better gamble based on past performance.

I didn't think I was doing that. a 2.5 million mortgage in Brooklyn is routine. I was just making the point that for all the excitement, its not a whole lot of money in the real scheme of things. It can be decent money for a teenager amusing their gamble pays off.

Absolutely! Even a person without a credit card could have gotten one this time. :D

My prediction: The price of silver will continue to fall and many people will cancel their orders. Final minting figures will drop from 250k to 150k. Demand for them in the next few years will be virtually non-existant.

On the bright side: I think they will become collectors' items 5-10 years from now.

this was my point awhile back. And common proofs have crazy high mintages. I even argued that this might be a better deal than the 2006 and 2011 set because you're purchasing just "uniques" and not fillers. If you estimate the 2011 set cost $75 for 2 uniques, that meant you paid $150 for 3 fillers, which is pretty steep. For the 2006 set, you bought 2 fillers with the 1 unique.
