Saw first one of these today...no line on springs, Obverse was perfect, Reverse with a couple finish flaws visible in good light. Going to pass on purchase as there will be better.

Very very light crease through Springs. Disappointed with some minor flaws elsewhere that would preclude an MS70.

Unless they are in their unopened original shipping package, they must be submitted within 30 days of their release.

Maybe I missed it, but what would be the cost for PCGS grading for one of these for someone who's never done it? Would I be best served going through my LCS? Thanks.

The coin arrived at 8:30am this morning. That was a surprise since my notice didn't come until late yesterday and USPS said it wasn't picked up yet and therefor no tracking information was available. It was shipped priority mail at the Mint's expense. I have looked at it thoroughly and there are no blemishes, especially in the area of the Hot Springs legend. So I don't know how to advise those who feel they may have problem coins. The Mint is now sold out so exchanging seems doubtful. Returning it may leave you with an opportunity lost, since limited mintage offers you no safe haven for future attainability. Silver could go down in value but collector cost may rise. Owning both bullion and the collector series, I would recommend holding for awhile. Even loosing a few dollars may be offset in time. I think the rewards are worth the gamble. There are few opportunities in ones life time to have a chance at owning an exclusive piece like this. I would say hold on to it and enjoy the ride.

Salty...where do you see the mint is now sold out...just looked and product is still for sale...I know there is belief it sold out, but the mint web site does not agree.

Received mine this morning, and it is perfect - no lines within words, and no blemishes that I can see with a 10x loop. Guess the mint felt guilty, taking into account the drop in silver spot last week, and shipped mine UPS Overnight Air - pretty good deal for $4.95 shipping. I'm very happy.

  13. Just got mine today. I really like the sandblasted finish...reminiscent of the burnished finish on the eagles. No observable defects/lines on mine. Here are some pics of SPRINGS lettering under pretty high (50x) magnification. My only complaints are that the black filaments in the case are hard to remove from the edges of the airtite and that the coin fits way too tight in that case. I will probably not put it back in the case which is kind of a pain for storage purposes. To the natural eye, my coin looks perfect (or very close to it). Under high magnification, the edges are dinged up a bit from the coin moving around the airtite. For those of you who think you have absolutely perfect coins that might grade 70, check the edges and near edges under 5-10x magnification. I have a strange feeling that these dings/nicks are the norm. TC

Received mine today via USPS Express Overnight.

Judging from the pics posted, and taking into account my lack of experience in these matters, my coin has lines but they are not as noticeable as the pic posted earlier. However you can see the imperfection even without magnification.

Any thoughts on whether to return it would be appreciated.

I like the "P" version okay, but everything just seems backwards to me. The collectors version looks like it should be the bullion, and the so called Bullion version seems like it should be the collectors version. I guess because the surface of the "P" version reminds me of the surface of the ASEs, and the so called bullion version looks like proof coins. It almost seems like somebody pulled a prank on the mint.

There was an article in one of my daily coin news notices to that affect. At the time of the articles writing the mint was down to 800 pieces and he EXPECTED a sellout by the end of that day. I think what happened was the Mint decided to evaluate their silver pricing, and when they stopped sales, they had cancellations which brought back the availability. This was close to the time of the article. So where that leaves the actual on hand is anybody's guess. The Mint will oversell this product and put you on a waiting list, they have already warned potential buyers of this. This means even if sold out their web page will let you order it, so an exchange right now is a very questionable call. I believe this is why the rush to get these out the door, to minimize further cancellations.

I wonder how these coins are secured while the finish is applied? The nicks my be a result of this also. Looking at both the bullion and the collector version, don't you feel the appearance is just backwards? Shinny and mirrored on the bullion coin, like a proof, and flat and dulled on the collector version, like a bullion ASE.

Mine was shipped next day air as well. Unfortunately I wasn't home to sign for it. I guess I'll get it tomorrow.
