I'm a bit confused, but what is there to time with a 27,000 mintage?? If you bought this as bullion then I'd agree, however that's not my play here.

People buying physical silver, especially numismatic silver, shouldn't be trying to time the market. There isn't enough liquidity to react to market timing so you will always be behind the curve in a bad way. So running off from numismatic silver, simply because of a few days price drop, means that you should go and honestly re-evaluate why you are buying the product in the first place.

By buying physical silver, especially numismatic silver, is almost "by definition" a buy and hold activity. The acquisition costs alone are reason enough for this.

Who you are seeing bailing out are people who shouldn't have bought in the first place. They are investors interfering in the collector market. They are here to flip and drive prices up to those who have collector value on their minds. Hopefully when they see the market change again for the umpteen time, it will be too late for them to obtain product. Silver dropping in price is like Ex-lax, it removes unwanted vestige from a pristine and more noble intention. IMHO.

So am I, but on a more advanced level. I'm talking being a day trader here wherein a smart person makes MAKE MULTIPLE TRADES in the past week hitting the peaks and valleys that have occurred. Taking away profits on a number of trades in a one week period, while some neophyte sits back and says , "well I bought at $20 and I will own until I die." This is really knowing when to hold and when to fold. Try it some time.

Can you formulate your own response, other than tee-hee?

    Absolutely correct.

These hockey pucks do not qualify as true numismatic coins in my book. There are more flippers than collectors holding these sets. You know some both flip and collect. Perfectly acceptable to do. They are collectable as a set to only a few. They are collectable to more as an individual piece. I realized that Yellowstone is a piece I would stay with because I like the design. But not the ugly 'outhouse' (Hot Springs). To those few collecting the set, more power to ya.
