AE27mm., 12.25 gm. Does anyone recognize this As/Dupondius that I have. The reverse looks reminiscent of Byzantine, (but that is just a guess). some different orientations of the obverse(?).
Looks like a Byzantine follis to me. I can almost make out two figures on the obverse. Could be Heraclius(?)
I'm pretty certain it is a very ill Agrippa & Augustus Dupondius of Gaul, Nemausus. The diameter and weight are right. The obverse seems like a match; especially with the valley in the middle between what would be the two busts. I have no idea how to make out the palm or croc on the reverse if this is the type. -Michael
