The mintmark reads MN<font face="arial">Δ, the delta of course being the 4th in the Greek alphabet so think of it as the coin trying to tell you it came from Mint Nicomedia Delta office. A Roman mint from this time period likely employed thousands of workers barricaded in fortress-factories (none of which were likely OSHA compliant at all lol!) and you can think of the office letter as an internal minting wing within this complex.</font></p><p><font face="arial"><br /></font></p><p><font face="arial">As I work on the next revision of my book I'd like to offer everyone a chance to pitch in.
