Wow I just checked the site before checking the boards here.. Almost had to verify that the number did change which it appears it did~ I am suprised that it only went up by about 600 or so sets... maybe they had a bunch of people jump ship yesterday when the mintage number passed the mintage of the 2006 set??

Right now it looks like this one could come in under the final mintage of the 2006 set depending on the number of returns as there is only about a 3,000 coin difference if I recall correctly. Can someone verify the 2006 mintage, isn't it like 248,500?

Anyway I've got mine ordered and I hope you got yours too, and if the price of these sets starts to raise on the secondary market I will not have any pity for anyone who missed the boat! Only time will tell~

Edit: Interestingly enough already bidding for $185 on Ebay :D And $192, and $198~

with returns due some circumstances like credit card problems. or bought too many. the final mintage might be lower than 2006w 3 coin set.

2012s raw reverse american eagle proof silver dollar. match with 2006w reverse proof. currently priced at $275.00.

2012s raw proof eagle - became the lowest american eagle proof version. and only second to rarest 1995w proof eagle. 1994 proof eagle value at $100.00. since 2012s is the lowest against 1994 proof eagle. i would price it at $150.00.

total - $425.00 that's for raw 2012s american eagle silver 2 coin set. and i would say $600 for grade70.

unfortunately. i only got one set. cause i cancel some due to wrong prediction.

Well anchor1112... I definitely like the way you think! Not sure it will go that high but would love it if it did! Sorry to hear you only got one, but at least you got that one!

Well, looks like they bumped the number up 3k yesterday, then 1k today.

Doesn't seem right. They could be accounting for cancellations (maybe all of the cancellations from the very start accounted for in the last 2 days), but possible not everything is in there.

Sales should have been maybe 50k from the 4th to the 5th, not only 4k.

yes. that's the number. can even go lower when some returns tabulated. why so few?. you can feel it if you try to order on the last day. it is very light. website have no traffic at all. and by looking at the order numbers. it was very very few. aside from this. silver price is low. bad economy around the world. dealers and speculators or investors bought this set quite earlier. the poor collectors order quite few for themselves. almost every coin forum. people talking not favor for this beautiful set. and the mint just playing this dangerous game with daily sales figure. what more can i say. i even scare and cancel five sets.

i remembered 1995w american eagle gold and silver 5 coin set. almost nobody like it. the mint have to give away a proof silver eagle. and that silver coin alone went up to $7,500.00. currently at around $3,000.00. grade70 1995w perfect 70 set went up as much as $35,000.00. at initial price at $999.00. it did not go up for few years. just like a dead cat. anyway. you tell us.

well, you know what they say about opinions....

if the mintage is 300k or less, I think it'll follow the path of the 2006 and 2011s, at least for the next few years. Oscillate for a while, surge somewhere down the line, maybe christmas? Then settle out and flatline somewhere above the issue price for the next few years.

I think the final number will actually be lower.

The Mint doesn't charge Credit Cards until shipping. If a card expires in the meantime, the order is cancelled.

I'm thinking the final mintage will be below the 2006 issue. Some minted coins could be melted, lowering the final Official Mintage total.

since the order is considered not much. i would expect the shipment will end earlier. said by september. good luck to all.

FWIW - from a different forum

If this is true, then after returns and cancellations , the mintage on this set should below the 2006 set.

    List of rare mintages:

    1. 1995-w
    2. 2011-s
    3. 2011-rp
    4. 2012-s
    5. 2012-rp

    6. 2006-rp

Did you ask whether they are sticking with the 7/27 shipping date? Maybe they will start shipping sooner. Like everyone, that's my hope anyway.

If you waited to the last minute to buy for resale, you could be almost 2 - 3 months behind in listing your items for auction. These flippers will loose out on the initial market. Some what of a penalty for "waiting it out" for mintage results.

Yeah, but if they stick to the end of october ship date for those, you'd also be into the christmas shopping season, which should boost demand around that period.

That's what a lot of folks said about the 25th anniversary sets but prices for those (raw, opened sets like I had) began to fall somewhat in December and early January.

well those sets were shipping to buyers in early/mid december, which is already pretty late IMO. tight squeeze to get it in for xmas presents. Plus because of the buy limits and mintage cap, people were just picking up 5, intending to sell 4 immediately. Also, the 2011 sets were selling for double the issue price already, which was up around $600, which makes an expensive present. If these are selling for $300, it would be a ton cheaper and more reasonable.

Would be interesting to see how much buying power it will have over time. But I doubt the prices will fall off enough where people would cancel their orders enmasse. :)

    Um, that's also wrong. :p

Remember, catalog orders may still be post marked and ready for delivery.
