    Yes, it is ANACS. Apparently that scared many away, but I think they got it right or maybe even a bit conservative. First off, the 1924-D is noted for its mushy strikes from overused dies . This one is not too bad, but you can see the details are not super sharp. Light wear on the high points and several small nicks. But there is nothing totally worn off. I think 40 is right or maybe even 40+.

    BTW, I got this one out of circulation 50+ years ago.

    I tried to warn you. Those old ANACS slabs are well graded. I would not say I agree with every one of them, but then I don't agree with all the NGC or PCGS either.

    That you did , I have a couple of well graded Bust Halves in the older small holders . I really blew it going 67 on the other coin , I should have known the luster was slightly muted on the reverse .

    You are correct. It does have 2 digits. And one of them is greater than or equal to the other.
