Since historic ratios between silver and gold have been all over the place from 10 to 100, it's meaningless to try to draw a relationship. The relationship exists only in your imagination.

that is why we call it prediction. as for my view. for short to long term. gold should be over $2,000.00. and based on comparison to other things. gold should be $5,000.00 per ounce. example the real estate. how much it went up from 90's to present time.

An article I read today (on GoldSeek?) indicated that the COT showed open interests in gold futures soared to over 400,000 contracts earlier this week. This means the bullion banksters had to throw everything they had at gold, selling to all bidders, just to keep gold a couple miserable FRNs below 1,000, a psychological barrier that once broken could start a stampede into PMs.

Due to the (coincidental) delayed release of the next COT and bankster participation reports until the end of next week, the banksters and FedGov will be able to keep most of their cards very close to their chests.

I expect some serious fireworks next week and a dollar collapse by early November.

I don't disagree with your analysis except for the timing. It might take much longer to develop. Sometimes it is much easier to know what will happen than when.

Can you provide a little more insight? How come do you think it'll collapse? I don't disagree, I'd just like to know your reasoning.

And isn't it funny how there's a psychological barrier of 1000$? It's at 994.50$, 5.50$ isn't going to break anyone's back. It's really a stupid barrier. I'd like to argue that 950 going to 975 is a larger barrier. People are funny :goof:

In the last week, it appears it is going up at the rate of about $9 dollars per day. It looks like it just brushed $997 a few hours ago.

JMO, but I think it is headed for $2000 in the near future. I also think that there is a false sense of economic recovery, and the stock market will stumble some . . . not like it did earlier in March, but will fall some. I did well, but wish I had thrown everything I own in the market on March 12th. It was a chance of a lifetime, and many millionaires were born since that date. I think gold will definately be at least $1,500 before the end of the year, and perhaps higher by then. Just my opinion though. We can't all be right, but we can all have an opinion.

    Nymex ,dollar ,gold futures.

I would say that most of the above post is more then a possibility.
The nymex when last run looks like 51% are bearish on the dollar, and 61 % are bullish on gold. That is a rather large spread. Some would say it could be a reverse indicator, but, I believe that is not accurate.
The markets are in turmoil because of the proping up of the stock market and putting downward pressure on gold.
If gold breaks out it will go higher I have no idea how much higher.
The only stocks that many keep are the paper that pays larger dividends than the best CD. Even many of those have reduced dividends. A stock for all time has been CL or Colgate. If they drop their dividend you will have problems with the markets like never before.

Charlie, you really think that gold will go up 50% by the end of 2009? Dang. Interesting to say the least. How did you come up with that thesis?

Basically just my gut feeling. It has been my best tool over the years.
Follow the world markets, gold markets, news, things going on in the world, trends, and as I said, just basically come up with a gut feeling. I went with my gut feeling and bought more stocks the second week of March than I had ever bought before, and it proved to be very good to me. I wish I had bought more, but I can't complain. I think gold is undervalued now, and a very good buy. You see more companies advertising on TV to buy your scrap gold than ever before, and it's for a reason.

Yeah that is what I keep thinking too. I have seen those gold commercials all over the place. CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN. Heck even some local channels. And it makes me think there is a big run coming too.

I really like how the cash for gold commercial calls your gold "old gold" as if "old gold" is something that is less valuable then new gold!. Those guys realy crack me up!

Obama says U.S. still faces complex economic crisis

Yeah that's one of the headlines today on Yahoo. With news like that gold should keep going up,up and nowhere else but up. I'm surprised that it's taken this long to start moving upward so maybe it's got a ways to go before it levels out. Your guess is as good as mine and even better if you use facts.
