I would have traded the gold for a really nice key date coin...then convert it back to gold when I got to where I was going.
Back in the mid 70's working in a hospital we had a guy who swallowed a few balloons of hash oil .
Well just another time that saying should of been headed....as that is a long flight from the middle east....and when your hash oil balloons pop durring that flight... well lets say it makes clearing customs a tad bit challenging.
I would have just payed the taxman. I'm not sticking a really nice key date coin up my bum either.
Lol...I envisioned just putting in my carry-on!
(Why am I having Pulp Fiction flashbacks?)
Isnt it cheaper too by coins with Listed dollar amounts. Like a $50 GOLD eagle x 50 and pay tax on the $2500.00 ?
Maybe I am missing some of the key dates hold these same fiat values ?
Of course neither of us know if either country makes this available. 18% on 60k is quite the tax...
I think in short time we will see a whole lot of this going on. The IMF didn't make Gold Basel III for nothing... With the rollout of digital currency and absolutely NO WAY of growing a saving in todays world. Gold and Silver will grow exponentially more important via the year.
The Fiat Currency's are being highly manipulated and pass via Central Banks to Friends and Family so they can LOAD UP on Tangible assets before the RESET.
This is why you continually hear EVERY Central Banker talk about DIGITAL CURRENCY as if it is NEEDED. We already have it, they just need a way OUT OF this Credit, derivative, and 750T $$$$ World wide debt mess they have created.
All without raising an eyebrow from the gullible consumer. All you will hear from the AVERAGE JOE is... wow, I love how EASY it is too pay for things. And they give me free money each month. "those guys are suckers, they buy my coffee each month, this is great" until it isn't and you are forced to spend it or lose it.
What a dissaster we have right around the corner and as of today, it is not a problem. Gotta love how smooth they have made the transition up to this point. Only on You Tube do you hear a word of it.
I think the point is to get through customs with something other than gold. I seem to recall a movie (or book) about a person that bought one of those upside-down plane stamps to get money out of the country. Anyway, that's what got me thinking about it.
There are definitely better ways to smuggle gold, for sure!
