What pieces or series of gold do you think is the value of the time.
It can be straight bullion or pieces that have not had a following ?

Well if it is just bullion, or melt value, than it would have to be just a bullion coin right?
I personally think any gold bullion coin is a good deal...
I like pieces of history though, and older gold coins... My favorite being that of the indian head half eagle and quarter eagle
I prefer classic gold, although if all you want is gold value, than bullion coins would be the best value to buy

I like the gold commemoratives from the 1980s. They are priced close to bullion value because of the relatively high mintages for gold coins.

I also like the '80's commemorates. Gold panda's, because they change the design from year to year. I also like old sovereigns and francs.
They offer some variety and a little history, very close to melt value.
