Very nice @Cucumbor but I think we were on 1557 in this thread? :)

We need someone to do 1556 first - them's the rules....

Then as I understand it, the game is over! The poster of the last coin in the sequence is the winner and gets a prize off @lordmarcovan .
I would prefer it if someone would find a 1556 so we can continue - I have a number stretching back to about 1516 once we can get over the hold up.

    Actually, this one's a @Curtisimo game. I'm just a player here.

Hope we're not at the finish line yet. I've got more, but am stuck on the sidelines until 1547 or so.

OK, minimum bid placed. We'll know in 4+ days whether or not I can post a 1556 coin. That's well within the 30-day deadline stated in the rules in the OP. I didn't see a rule saying we couldn't buy something to keep the game going a little longer. ;)

I'd like to see us go back into the 1400s. Pre-1500, it's gonna get a lot more challenging.

I will check my Islamic coins from Indian Sultanates, I think I have gold tankas from Gujarat dated AH=1556.

The game will not end here ladies and gents. If @lordmarcovan doesnt win that coin I will buy a 1556 and throw it in with the prizes.

I am going to expand the number of prizes given out for this game anyhow as it grew in popularity beyond my expectations. Will probably do a prize for every couple hundred years or something. I'll think of something cool as an appropriate send off... no worries there ;).

Keep me updated on whether or not you score that coin @lordmarcovan so that I can grab another one if needed.

Will do. I figure, hey, a nice cheap Hungarian denar, why not? Worst case scenario, I end up putting it into one of my own future giveaways. I've always liked 'em. Good cheap fun, they are.

I kind of regret selling some of these.

    Help is here!
I looked thru my "junk drawer' of coins that I put away to get rid of. Anyway, I found a 1556 example. I got it when I was a kid for Christmas from my Aunt. Its a Taler 1556 from Hall Mint/ Tyrol/ Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand I:happy: 2798561l.jpg
