So, with the last mint sales report, we learned that 1,174 sets were sold of the 2011 Silver Proof set for the week. Since the end of January, the sales have been averaging 1,022 sets per week. Right now the 2011 Silver Proof Set is 33,814 sets behind the 2010 total. If the current average of 1,022 sets sold per week maintains, it will take just over 33 weeks for the 2011 to catch up with the 2010 total. This mirrors Yakpoo's earlier calculation of Labor Day in September. And again, still no word of when the 2012 set will be made available or when the 2011 set will end. It would be interesting to know what the mints plan is, if there actually is one.

So lets see, umm, we've had the 5.oz ATB's, next was the 25th Silver Eagle Anniversary Set. So maybe now the mint is again looking for "The Next Big Thing". So whatta ya think? All 2012 Silver Proof Sets made of .999 silver, because the decision was made to eliminate 90% coinage and are no longer being made? The sets are already late being made available to the public, probably takes awhile to round up all those planchets and time to get things set up. That may take alot of time. Which provides more time to unload the remaining 2011's. So were talkin' low mintage. Limited edition. Maybe household sales limits? First year of issue. Extraordinary, elaborate packaging complete with numbered COA. And all the fanfare and hype that comes with it. Could be. Who Knows? Of course, this is all just conjecture on my part, but stranger things have happened. I just wonder though if this "Next Big Thing" is what the mint has planned for us the customer.
