That may be due to the Mint's lack of an announcement for the release of the 2012 Silver Proof sets. I had expected the 2012 release to be about the same time as the release of the 2011 sets (25 January)...afterall, the whole reason for changing the release date was to move it up to the beginning of the year!! The Mint released their Product Schedule through 23 February 2012; they're releasing the 2012 ATB Silver Proof "Quarter" sets on 10 January 2012, but not a peep about the 2012 Silver Proof sets. This can only mean one thing!!! ...the Mint produced too many of the 2011 Silver Proof sets and they need to keep them on sale a bit longer. <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie9" alt=":eek:" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" /> Let's assume that sales of the 2010 Silver Proof sets spike in the next two (2) weeks and final sales figures come in around 585,000 (still Crazy Low!!)...and the 2011 Silver Proof sets stay on sale into March 2012 (12 weeks from now) with average sales of 5,000/week...that would bring the final sales figures for the 2011 Silver Proof set to around 586,000. That would mean the 2010 sets would win the Key Date race! :hail: Silver Proof set sales as of 13 December, 2011...    2010 Silver Proof Set sales: 930 for a total of 579,774 2011 Silver Proof Set sales: 8,834 for a total of 526,143   The lowest mintage of any modern Silver Proof set was 1995 (679,984).           The average weekly sales figures for 2010 sets needed by the  end    of     the  year (2 weeks  left) to equal that mintage is...   2010 Silver Proof Set: (679,984 – 579,774) / 2 = 50,105 The average weekly sales figures for 2011 sets needed by the end of January 2011 (6 weeks  left*) to equal that mintage are...  2011 Silver Proof Set: (679,984 – 526,143) / 6 = 25,640 * Who knows?
