Truth be gold, err i mean told, until I came across this website and checked out Elaine's threads and comments I never really had ANY clue about these "W" marks, making these coins "instant classics" and now possess highly respectable nuismatic value. I'm your typical bullion guy. I like to keep things basic. But these coins do fascinate me. I just thought it was a bit strange how some bullion guy like me could ask such a simple question and not get ANY response by the "Queen Bee" of the entire bullion discussion forum. Elaine you gotta back that up!

Indeed Elaine's insights are apprecatiated. I feel she is making an intuitive approximation that the numbers she supplied are not going to be far off in the near future. As for right now they very well could be bargains. Maybe they just arn't mainstream yet. These W coins are the real deal. They are RARE. This is the name of the game. 2008 was a freakish economic year as well as a crazy mint year. I've never heard of the mint putting out incorrect figures, then coming up w/ new mintage numbers that are even lower! Doesnt feel like this is going to happen again for quite some time. The key dates have been established for the entire Eagle Series as well as the Buffalo. They are not putting out any 2010 W anything next year.

Another beef: A lot more of the W coins can be said over the other "nusicmatic bullion" coin: the UHR. Sorry guys, I just don't see this coin being that big of a deal with over 100,000 minted. Sure its out for only one year , but who really gives a rats ass? ITs a beautiful coin no doubt, but it ain't RARE. How can this be worth a $350 premium? The mint is here to make money and isn't interested in gyping itself last time I checked.[/QUOTE]
