  3. Elaine: I am confused. How did the mintage of the 2006W 1/4 oz. AGE drop from 7,150 (post #198) to 4,984 (post #201)? Overall, I think the 2008W 1/4 oz. has the lowest mintage, correct? TC

to TopcatCoin: yes. the lowest AGE unc 1/4 oz gold right now is the 2006w as revised by the u.s.mint. and the 1/2 oz gold is the 2007w.

  5. I am very surprised by this update for the 2006W 1/4 oz. AGE especially 4 years after release. However, if you consider both individual sales plus sales of the 4-coin sets, the the 2008W 1/4 oz. AGE still has the lowest total mintage for a 1/4 oz. AGE. TC

but the pricing nowadays is mostly based on individual or single coin. and the coin must have complete box and c.o.a. the set have their own pricing anyway. so the 2008w 4 pc set is the lowest.

i think the 2006w and 2007w 1/4 oz will pass $1,000.00 each soon. in line with the 2008w 1/4 oz.

the prices for 2006w to 2008w AGE unc gold should be:

    2006w 1/2 oz - 4,960 pc - $1,850.00
    2006w 1/4 oz - 4,984 pc - $1,500.00

    2007w 1/2 oz - 4,451 pc - $2,000.00
    2007w 1/4 oz - 5,762 pc - $1,400.00

    2008w 1/2 oz - 5,209 pc - $1,650.00
    2008w 1/4 oz - 6,032 pc - $1,375.00

  9. The mint packaging on the AGE burnished series was not very good...basically a blue cardboard box with an insert to hold the capsule and a paper c.o.a. I have seen a lot more 2006W 1/4 ounce for sale than 2008W which makes me think that many of the 2006W AGE 4-coin sets were broken up and sent in for grading. I like the 2008W 1/4 ounce AGE over either the 2006W or 2007W due to it having the lowest total mintage (individual coin + 4-coin set). TC

    1. there will be no more coins of this type of fractional be produce by the mint.
    2. the mint updated its mintage recently. the figures were down so much from the original released.
    3. the prices did not run so much compare to its counterpart american buffalo.
    4. cdn began to adjust those prices. like 2006w and 2007w 1/2 ounce were higher now than 2008w.

    Thank you. :smile

Number 2 is the only one that I dislike and feel could continue to be 'adjusted' thus throwing off the numbers.

the fractional 2006w to 2008w AGE uncirculated gold series. mintage recently being updated by the u.s. mint. with only 4,000 to 6,000 pieces being produced. and several thousand pieces being slabbed. those with original box and c.o.a. might only have few hundreds left in each category. just a reminder.

Thank you. It's so surprising how long it takes the Mint to determine mintage statistics, good reason no one should take your numbers too literally, too soon, and instead take them as generalizations, with true figures to come years later.
