You know, you're a real riot. Please define "a little" for me? Do you think that's 20 grand? 10 grand? Maybe to some here, that's a little. But don't worry, that isn't me. You want to give me a lecture about paying taxes and think I'M screwing the system? That's fine. You don't have any clue. If you did have a clue, you wouldn't have even posted to this thread. You see, I'm in the 50% of Americans who *DOES* actually pay taxes in. The other 50% are paying NONE, and getting more money paid back to them than me!! Mine are straight forward. Easy for them. I don't go after non-sense write-offs like everybody else does. You have NO idea the magnitude and lengths people are going out there to avoid paying taxes. In reality, the IRS should be calling me up and graciously thanking me every year. For that matter, the state of Illinois should be too, now that I'm giving them another 2% cut off the top. The IRS wants/chooses the 10k page, complicated as possible, tax code. I don't. I think it's totally ignorant. But, since that's what they want, it's a double edged sword. They will win some areas and lose others. I really couldn't care less. If the govt. thinks it's a great idea to harass me, throw me in jail, lose my positive tax revenue (over peanuts, if anything), and make me lose my job, that won't be too smart on their part! I'll get on welfare and take advantage of the system so fast their heads will spin. I'll be the most bitter s.o.b. the rest of my life, and it'll cost them a small fortune. I'm a pretty good slave for them right now. You can only beat people down so much before they go the other way. If you want to send the govt. a full report of everything you own, how much you paid for something in 1975, when you sold it at a garage sale and for how much, go right ahead. If you think they're ENTITLED to know all this than you're a misguided individual. Maybe you should seek out another country to live in while you're at it. One better suited to your will of giving up all your rights and personal information. I'd rather hang on to the thread we have left.
Wow. I've been watching silver rolls on eBay, and it looks like the going rate is right around 24-25x FV, including shipping -- which means the seller is netting maybe 20x after fees. What were you selling, and how were you listing it, to net 24x? I wouldn't mind selling some myself if I could get that.
I have a great sense of humor. Just hard to know how to take posts left on a message board I guess. In general though, IRS topics and humor, typically don't go hand in hand.
