Oh, man, I like that neo-cob, but I LOVE that Canadian owl and was unfamiliar with the type!

Middle Ages: how about my so-called "Hippie Coin", which I sold to @dadams and now have a few pangs of seller's remorse for:

Medieval Croatia (Ragusa): silver grosso portraying St. Blasius and Christ, ca. 1372-1438

Obverse: S BLASIVS RAGVSII, Saint Blasius standing, facing, raising hands in benediction and holding crozier.
Reverse: IC/XC, Christ standing facing, raising hand inbenediction and holding Gospels.

Let's have Christ or saints on coins or medals, now.

    A Saint:

Continue with Saints, Christ, other religious images.

Obv: IC - XC; Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator.
Rev: Alexius and St. Constantine standing facing, holding labara and a globus cruciger between them.
    Reference: Sear 2011-2013.

Edit to add : "Continue with Saints, Christ, other religious images"

    Continue the theme.

That's quite an unusual surface finish on that Niue coin?

Continuing the "saints or religious figures" theme, I just remembered John the Baptist on this bit of medieval gold (which I might have already posted previously).

Netherlands (Gelderland): "St. John" type goldgulden (florin) of Arnold van Egmond, ca. 1423-1472

Let's have some more medieval hammered gold, if anyone has any handy. I know @panzerman does, but we don't have to see just the high end Mint State stuff.

Stalled, eh? Sorry. "Medieval hammered gold" is a tough theme to follow.

Don't forget the "24-hour clause" from Post #1, which states,
So now we've hit the "reset" button and begin again.

    Let's try seabirds, this time?

Or micronations. Either will do. :)

Island of Lundy: bronze 1-puffin coin (token) issued by Martin Coles Harman, 1929

Let's do Queen Victoria next, or any coin with multiple lions on it.

Another, more youthful, version (well and a different denomination, but who cares? AND there are even more lions).

    Wow! Seven lions!

I'll see your seven lions and raise you seven lions plus a really tiny Saint George slaying the dragon. (A detail which, I am ashamed to admit, I never noticed on this coin until just now, years after I sold it. I guess my eye just saw it all those times before and said, "oh, that's just some random little ornamental flourish".)
