Yeah, I remember. Remember how popular they were before the mint screwed it all up and silver tanked? The first issue sold out in about a week. The great thing is you can still get what you paid for them or more if you have a no problem 69 or 70, even though silver is down. Yeah, most likely problem ones can be had on eBay for less for some issues. I see nothing but positives for this series, aside from their rarity, they are unbelievable beautiful coins.

  3. Bullion GSM mintage now stands at 26,500. So, will be more than collector puck but by the slimmest of margins.

Sales figures just posted today show 24,043 sold, which is an increase of 447 over last week. The week before only about 100 were sold, so it looks like these may sell out sooner than anticipated based on last week's sales.

Hot Springs soldout in a week? I don't remember that. I remember loging on to the mint an hour ahead of time to get those pucks ordered. Chaos...

Interesting, even though the limit for Smoky is 25,000, today's sales report shows 25,421 sold and it is still available. Maybe next week's report will reconcile the numbers and show it sold out.

Coin Update was also questioning the sales figures in their weekly report (below). Here is the current sales numbers on the two 2014 collector pucks.

2013 AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL 5 OZ UNC COINS
    2014-P Great Smoky Mountains25,4211,378
    2014-P Shenandoah National Park20,12020,120

Opening sales for the product reached 20,120 units from the 30,000 maximum mintage. This figure is well above the opening sales figures for last year’s releases, but down slightly from the prior release featuring Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which had opened at 21,415 units. Oddly, the Great Smoky Mountains coin now shows total sales of 25,421 units, which is above the indicated mintage limit of 25,000 pieces.

    definer definitely....! LOL

They have charged my card but don't show mine as being shipped yet.

  9. I said it before and will say it again: the subscription rate for these 5 oz pucks is the best deal the mint has going on. TC

I agree; the collector pucks are the best thing going.

It is nice to see that the demand is increasing for the collector pucks.

I had a feeling Smokey would sellout before the next puck was shipped, let's see if we have a repeat in sellouts @30k.

It will most likely sell out but I'm guessing it will not be for a few months.

Smoky Mountain was the first one I've purchased. I went ahead and did the subscription. Not sure how long I will continue it, but at this price, I think I will go awhile at least.

I'm tempted to buy this coin only because I had a really nice vacation there a few years ago. Brings back good memories. We had a camping site for a week and everyday there would be tons of deer that would roam through your site. They'd get pretty close to you too. It is quite a nice place to relax.

Back to the actual coin. The Mintage is 30,000 how much do you guys believe this one could be valued at? will it explode like the HOF coins did? what about MS70/PR70 grade premiums?

At 30k, are you talking about Shenandoah? If so, it may be one of the higher mintage ones to date. But hey, at these mintages, I'd say they are all low mintage, with prices that could go to the moon, if the series catches on. Heck, 30k is the mintage of the 1995-w proof ASE and I like these more than ASE's. Of course the SP70's always sell for more.

I ordered the both the Smokey Mountain and the Shenandoah. I didn't really think of signing up for the subscription till after the Smokey Mountain was already out. I ordered it on the first day and it still hasn't been sent. Signed up for the subscription and the Shenandoah was shipped today. Seems kind of backwards. lol I think the Smokey Mountain will ship soon since it doesn't say back ordered anymore. Says reserved and in stock. Must have been some kind of holdup minting the Smoky Mountains. I was beginning to think the mint didn't ship coins. Just took orders. Hopefully my Baseball silver dollars will come sometime this year also.
