I like APMEX for semi-numismatics that are hard to find, when I'm trying to lock them in on a dip since they have real time pricing. Though I prefer Gainesville to lock in on a dip since they have most of what I like for a better deal anyway. Otherwise I pretty much only use APMEX to gauge how much people are willing to overpay for something and how fast things are selling out since they'll tell you how much they have in stock if you exceed the supply.

  4. just ordered from apmex. I'm a little annoyed with how long it takes to "process" a payment. I paid with credit card. No reason it should take 3-4 days from time of payment to time of shipment.

I tried placing an order on "ioffer" of one US eagle gold and a roll of silver eagles, but I got no notification via email as indicated on their site. No way they could run a business selling AGEs at that price with payment via CC.

Every business has to be careful with credit card payments, so the wait may be clearing time to deal with potential issues. There are many businesses dealing with fraud; profit margins are so small, losses due to fraud kill whatever profits they may enjoy.

If you read his terms and conditions it is check or MO only. That is possibly why the no verification.

try silvertowne, i believe they have or have had in the past 1 oz bars for around $30-$31 with free shipping. Good price for small buyers.....

    doug444 STAMPS and POSTCARDS too!

I deal with a local silver seller face to face. He comes to my bank, gets paid in cash, and the coins go directly into my safety deposit box, 2 minutes later.

He doesn't charge sales tax, and knows a LOT about the bullion market. What more could you ask? But if I did want a BIG order filled fast I'd go to Gainesville Coins (which is nowhere near Gainesville Florida, by the way).

As I've said previously, I really don't like rounds and bars. He brings what I ask for - junk silver - and never tries to sell me other types of bullion.
