Or IS it Philip II??? Fascinating to read as they continue to pull the thread and unravel this ancient mystery: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ancient.eu/amp/2-1490/ (Must be idealized, cause I'm pretty sure Phili lost one of those peepers fortifying Macedonian holdings) The first unified European King and ruler of Greece. Man, do I want this story to have a philippic ending! And who is the female warrior/Queen?!?? That said, only time will tell. So in the mean time let's share our coins of this truly "great" ruler and your thoughts on this 2,350 year old mystery! (FYI, that's what a gat dang conquer looks like folks) Though I still don't have my big boy Philip II all in silver and such, like certain @Alegandron's, I do have some fun bronze pieces... Post em if you got em!
...yeah, he was monophed(?)...i have a 'tetra' drachm of him in bronze like yours..(who can have just mono, eh?!)...
@Ryro Alegandron recommended a fascinating and very well written book by Richard A. Gabriel about Philipp II of Macedonia in the following thread: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/who-is-buried-in-philip-ii’s-tomb.334701/ I bought it and once you start reading it, you can't stop.
If you want a moderately difficult short-set challenge, try collecting these little Phillip bronzes in all orientations... The most common are right/right, the least common are left/left, at least in my experience.
YOU inspired me to do that!
