I doubt these bars were dipped correctly. Not once has BNB actually asked how to dip. He's only seen suggestions. He NEEDED to ASK how to do it properly. He needs to realize 'nice, bright and shiny' is ALWAYS good for cars, but not necessarily good for silver.
Belittle me all you want(Because you've been doing that for a while now), but let me tell you, when it comes to silver ingots, there's nothing wrong with dipping them once. bnb
how about putting him on ignore? That seems the most appropriate thing to me. You clearly hve an issue with his posts and ignoring him is the best way to handle it since merely being critical is not a reason for me to reprimand him. You seem to be missing the distinction between being critical of a person's actions and attacking the person. One is personal an not allowed on the forum and the other is a valued part of public discourse.
I just did. Heh, you should see his posts on CU towards me. He did plenty of name calling and personal attacks their so I know where he's truly coming from with his posts. Let me know if you want me to PM his posts over on CU to you.. They are very disturbing.. bnb
It's true that no one will ever care...but I think this is a good way to gain dipping experience. So, IMHO there is a reason for it. Why not learn on something that you can't hurt rather than learn on a coin you can.
So you dip silver, and THEN you ask about future issues related to dipping? These are in the wrong order.
seriously I would ask the question what happens to a car if I push it off a cliff before I actually push it off a cliff.. on a serious note if one was to dip coins what do you use to dip them? Any step by step guides would be great. As for distilled water or ionized water I think it is can I just use pur water pitcher water? I have a 1958 D quarter with a black donut ring around the obverse and darker black ring covering about 90% of the reverse. Thinking of cleaning it up, it's "junk silver" at least I paid that for it and I think that's really the only reason it sold as such as the strike on it is great and the small middle circles of the coin are MS condition and where the black toning may only have a few light. (1 on the obverse and 2 on the reverse) I realize it might mess up the coin dipping it, but it might also save it, and I did buy it for junk price so it it gets screwed up I still shouldn't be out anything...
