Putting the seller to the side, I can see this happening more and more, and here is why. When I tell quite a few auction buddies of mine about fakes, they are taken aback, and most never have known that certain items can be fake until I tell them about it. The amount of counterfeiting done by the Chinese is astronomical. From the various industries I am part of, I can tell you for a fact the following items are being faked. - Watches -Purses, and other leather goods. -Shoes, and popular clothing. -Metal Detectors -Satellite Receivers -Airbags (full of shrapnel). -Jewelry -Gold, Silver, and other bullion. - Apple iPods, iPhones, and other devices. -Coins, even certified coins they are faking. Over the past few years I have seen this grow rampantly. It will continue to grow until a stop is put to it. Getting back to the seller, MANY people are unaware of counterfeit silver bars. They usually test hand-poured bars, but most people take a regular silver bar with a great amount of trust. I can see a lot of people never testing them and selling them. If you can take something for granted, would you worry about it authenticity? Probably not. Not only are the Chinese doing this to disrupt our trading systems, it hurts the small seller even more. People will start seeing the small sellers as being shysters, and only buy from the "big box" bullion stores. People will start seeing the small sellers as shysters when it comes to other items being sold, and they will only buy from authorized sellers. Here is a good question.... ------------------------------------------- If people on here are saying we have no power in china, what about INTERPOL, the international police. China IS a member of INTERPOL. Can't they do something? If not, as mentioned earlier, this problem is going to get out of hand, mark my words.
