Unfortunately it’s Canadian = much lower collector base. Pretty much true for all Canadian and other foreign coins.

Defiantly the design, plus it caught a lot of us by surprise when they sold out early. I had been watching the numbers thinking I had more time since they were minting a little over 17,000 prior to selling out on all the others. Now I want one at any cost, oops, did I say that, no I meant spot. Yeh, I want one at spot, maybe I'll pay a buck over spot, er, ...........
We can agree to disagree. I simply find the premium for the word "key" to be exceedingly strong in US numismatics. I have had in my hand all ATB 5 ouncers, and my personal preference is not Hawaii but other issues, but that is besides the point. I simply believe its because the Hawaii is now regarded as the "key" that is driving the price premiums, just like a 32d and 32s quarters have always been overpriced versus their rarity because they are the "keys". Only way to know will be if they produce some at much lower mintages in the future. Then we will see how much value is in the design.
I really like the Acadia puck but I'm originally from Maine and still spend many summer vacations in the Bar Harbor region. It is intersting to note that the Acadia puck is now selling on the bay for over $400 so it is also climbing in value.
The "berries" - is that a Canadian expression? lol Sorry just a fact. When I was a young collector, I was sure the low mintage Canadian silver dollars were sleepers, but alas, the demand never did materialize.

I already bought mine in September 2012 for $210 including shipping. It is nice to know that the Hawaii and Maine pucks are adding some value to my collection.
Another Hawaii sold for $685............
